Revise Annotation2

1.      I give a title to my annotation and tell the reader what I want to talk about in this article annotation. It is about a reason that I think can cause psychology poverty- comparing with others.
2.      After reading some advices from classmates, I get some new concepts toward buying lottery tickets. Not only the poor, but also the rich will buy lottery tickets. Besides, poverty may not be the only reason why people want to buy lottery tickets.
3.      I try to describe that I do not see psychology poverty as a crime or a bad thing. Everyone has their own goal; to fulfill their poverty in mind can also be a life destination.
4.      I have corrected my spelling error and some mistakes in grammar.

Psychology of Poverty comes from comparing with others
Some people may think that they are poor; they cannot fulfill themselves by their present life style. Why they classify themselves as poor come from the target they use to compare with themselves. It is impossible that everyone can become the rich like the boss of big company or get huge power like a president. If we compare our incomes with these bosses or chairmen, we absolutely can be defined as the poor. However, if we can change our judgment toward the definition of rich, if we try to satisfy with what we have already owned, including the affection, the happy in our life; then we must be the rich one.

In the article: Psychology of Poverty: Why Poor People Buy Lottery Tickets, the researcher has already made a trap and lead participants to feel their conditions which researcher expect them to perceive. In our real-life, what make us feel our poor? We can easily receive a lot of information about fashion, brand, celebrities’ luxury and the cost of their house and their clothes. Media just like the researcher in the article which gives us a way to feel our insufficient in material life; and people who receive these information and desire for it are compared as the participants in the research. They fall into the disorientation of material life and look themselves as the poor. People are easily influenced by external factor and will compare themselves with what they admire. Although the condition may not be that worse, pessimistic impression has already hid their eyes to look at the bright side of their life. It is a kind of psychology of poverty that many people may commit.

Poor people work hard for life. In some condition, desire for money is not just want to fulfill for material life, it is also for surviving. How about the rich? All of us will have a goal in our life, and also we cannot identify what kind of goal is better or what kind of life destination is worse. The rich do not satisfy with what they have owned and desire for more power and space may be their life goal. They may try to challenge themselves and try to prove their ability. If they use their way to fulfill psychological poverty, then they may have a chance to find the value of life and the value of themselves. To find the value of the life is also a way to decrease to psychological poverty, because that means our psychology can find the destination and get confidence from it. Here I get another conclusion: human being is poor because of their psychological poverty, but also, they can rich their mind by trying to decrease their psychological poverty.

  1. You wrote, “All of us will have a goal in our life, and also we cannot identify what kind of goal is better or what kind of life destination is worse” in your annotation.

What you mentioned is a value judgment problem and it can be solved by comparing one’s desire and the result of one’s action. If what one does eventually results in what he wants, it may be considered right (morality not considered). In IMDb, ”A workaholic architect finds a universal remote that allows him to fast-forward and rewind to different parts of his life…” Adam Sandler made choices which seemed to be right while in the long term, wrong.
